It is a sauce traditionally made from milk and white roux.

You can Pair bechamel sauce(White sauce) with vegetables, turn it into a creamy soup or spoon it over seafood or chicken.

This white sauce recipe can be used as a base for many dishes, such as lasagna and chicken pot pie. 


  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • A half portion of an onion
  • Bay leaf
  • 2 cloves
  • ¼ tbsp Bechef garlic salt
  • ½ tbsp chili flakes
  • ½ tbsp black pepper

Follow the below-mentioned recipe's steps and you'll end up with adaptable and flavourful bechamel sauce. 


Step 1:

First of all, You'll start by making a roux from butter and flour. So, put 2 tbsp of butter in a pan and heat over a medium flame. Let the butter melt.

Step 2:

Add 2 tbsp of flour once the butter is melted. Keep stirring until the butter and flour completely composite.

Step 3:

When the bubbles formed, keep stirring and add 1 cup of milk. The milk you add to make this white sauce can be at room temperature.

Step 4:

You can put a half portion of an onion, one bay leaf, and 2 cloves in this mix to extract the flavor. Stir well up to 4 to 5 minutes to get a thicker consistency.

Once you get the desired consistency, you can discard the onion piece, cloves, and bay leaf.

Step 5:

Add ¼ tbsp of bechef garlic salt, ½ tbsp of chili flakes, and ½ tbsp of black pepper to this and stir well.

Your white sauce(Bechamel sauce) is ready.

More About This Recipe:

It is not necessary to add onion and cloves, So if you want to exclude them, you can. And still, you will get a good flavor from The Bechamel sauce.
